Sandbridge Beach Family Vacation June 2008

On June 7th, we packed up and headed back to Sandbridge Beach, VA for the 3rd year in a row. We LOVE it there! This year we booked our beach house through Siebert Realty and the name of it was Sea Symphony. It was a beautiful house with a gorgeous pool. When we got there, the air conditioner was broken and it was 95 degrees inside! We called the maintenance people like a gazillion times and it didn't end up being fixed until around noon on the 2nd day so we all slept in the heat with about 74 fans blowing on everyone. Five hours after the air was fixed, the power went out on the entire strip of beach, but luckily it came back on after only 2 hours and we were able to enjoy the rest of our week without any major issues!

We had another week of perfect weather for the beach, pool, and golfing. Here are some pictures of our vacation:

In the middle picture are Kevin and Stacie who came to spend the weekend with us. They're expecting their 1st child, a little girl, in late September. In the 1st and last picture are Grammy and Max swimming in the pool. Max liked floating in an innertube with his arm floaties on, he did a great job and loved the pool!

I think this was the 1st evening we were there. It was 95 degrees in the house so we went to the beach to hunt for sandcrabs. Max liked wearing Pap's straw hat. That's him and Uncle Will on the deck in the 1st pic. The 2nd pic is of Trevor and Max and Brad trying to catch a sandcrab.

Sunday morning we got all the beach stuff ready, blankets and umbrellas and kites, and headed back to the beach. It was 100 degrees that day so it was nice to be by the water for most of it with the breeze! Here's 3 pictures of Max flying his kite, Aunt Barb and Trevor jumping waves, and Grammy and Max in their sunglasses.

Later that afternoon we were back in the pool and had a watergun battle!

On Monday, my mom and dad showed up! Max was happy to have both sets of his grandparents on vacation with him! They headed back home on Thursday morning.

Thursday morning, after a snuggle with Grammy and Trevor, Max and I went back to the beach to jump some waves. It was one of his favorite things besides the pool! Then we built some sandcastles, caught a couple sandcrabs we named Jimmy and Timmy, watched some lifeguards working out and headed back under the umbrella for a snack before going back to the beach house for lunch and a nap!

Swimming in the pool in his lifejacket!! He got hold of the lifevest/floatie situation on Wednesday or Thursday and is ready to go swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's pool. His buddy Eion who lives up the street from us also has a pool and he can't wait to go up to play now!
Thursday night we went to the boardwalk in VA Beach and made a new Dance Heads video with the kids. They put them in front of a green screen, as you can see, and superimpose their heads onto dancers in music videos. This is the 2nd year we did a Dance Heads video and it's just as funny as last years!
Then Tyler and Trevor went mini golfing with Pap and Uncle Will and Brad & I took Max over to the pier to ride some rides and play some games.

Pap and the boys
Friday night was our last night at the beach and we like to go down to take some pictures in the evening. We did some family shots and then the boys played some football

Friday was Pap's birthday so we got him an ice cream cake, decorated the house with balloons and streamers while he was out golfing and sang to him when we got home from the beach.

So that was our awesome vacation for '08! We're already excited to go back next year. Thanks for checking out the pics!!

Sara-
It looks like a great time! My kids loves the beach, too.
Fun memories there for your family, for sure.
