June 12th through June 20th, 2009 ~ Sandbridge Beach Vacation

Here are some pictures of the house we stayed in this year. Oddly enough it was right next door to the house we stayed in last year, but we didn't know that when we picked it!

On our way!

Our friends Kevin, Stacey and their baby girl Lorelei came to stay a few days. This is the first evening at th ebeach, after we grocery shopped, unpacked, and got settled in.

We celebrated Pap's 60th birthday that evening after going out for dinner.

Sunday morning was a good beach day! We headed over and set up the canopy, which worked out much better than the umbrellas we've used in past years.

Max likes his new Leapster2, he played it a lot when Tyler & Trevor played their DS's and he's getting pretty good at the Cars game.

Monday morning chilling on the couch with Grammy. It was kind of chilly but we still headed over to the beach for a little bit and caught a sandcrab!

Having popsicles by the pool after dinner

This is the point in my endless amount of photographs that I lose track of what day it is and when things happened, so here are some groupings of shots that look like they probably go together.
Sunny morning at the beach, bright and early, too! Trevor & Max are early risers so we headed over to check out the seashell situation and it was SO weird, there were all of the brightly colored beautiful shells in the sand waiting for us... We only found awesome shells when Aunt Barb was with us... wonder if that had anything to do with it!

This was a chilly day, the boys were golfing, and we were hanging around the house. Max enjoyed playing with Lorelei's baby toys and he loved being around her! He wanted to touch her toes and hug her and be right up in her face all the time.

Another chilly day, but we made it over to the beach and made some sandcastles then came back to swim in the pool. That didn't last long though because the sun hadn't shown for several days and the pool water was really cold!

The 2009 Sandbridge Open

After mini golf we had dinner then headed back over to the beach for a little bit. It was a little too windy to play wiffle ball but the sun was out!

The next morning we walked back over to the beach and the surf had been so rough, and the wind was so hard, that it carved a wall into the beach. Check out Max's hair, the wind was blowing so hard it was sticking straight up!
Since we couldn't be at the beach that day, we headed down to the playground at the end of the island to play for a while before dinner.

Some action shots from one of our many wiffle ball games on the beach

Must have warmed up enough to swim again this day! Here's Brad & Max hanging by the pool
And the wind finally died down enough to get out the cool Buzz Lightyear kite and fly it!

This was definitely Thursday, the next nice beach day we had. Here's a pic of the boys before breakfast. It was still overcast enough that you didn't need sunblock but it was 85 and a just a gentle breeze. This is Will and Tyler and Trevor jumping waves.
Friday, our last day there, it hit 90 and the sun came out full force. It was a perfect way to wrap up the week!
Friday night we've made it a tradition to head down to the beach (with makeup on!) and take some nice family and group pictures. Here they are, in no particular order. Most of you know the cast of characters at this point I think!

Beach Racing
After the races we headed back to the house for The Grammy Awards. Pictured below are the winners!
In the category of Best Listener and Best Sleeper, the Grammy Award goes to Max Warhold!
In the category of Best Eater (for trying shrimp) and Best Helper the Grammy is awarded to Trevor Adair!
And the winner of the 2009 Sandbridge Open is Tyler Adair!
So, there you have it! All the fun pics from vacation. It was a great time, can't wait for next year! Already missing the ocean and hanging out with everyone.
