Sandbrige Beach, VA ~ June 17, 2006 - June 23, 2006

These are our friends, Kevin and Stacie. They came down to spend the first weekend with us and it was really fun to see them! They just got married and are moving into their new house.

This is the first evening we arrived. It was about 6pm and we walked down to the beach for the sunset. Brad and Kevin did some fishing. It was a little chilly but the ocean was beautiful and we were so excited to be there!

These two handsome kids are our nephews. Tyler is 5 and Trevor is 3. They are experienced beach goers and loved playing football in the sand with their dad and Brad!

The kids! We have to dress them up in matching shirts because we have no girls in our family to dress up in cute outfits. Don't they look like little hunks?

So all told it was a great vacation. The weather was sunny and close to 90 every day we were there! We can't wait to go back next year! While we were there Max learned how to feed himself Cheerios and Goldfish crackers. We're trying to convince him to branch out into other things like bananas and pieces of egg and toast but he still doesn't like to get his hands messy so whenever I hand him one of those things he just smooshes it up and tosses it over the side of the highchair. Then he gives me that look that says "Mom... ew! Seriously?"

And brace yourselves: We have even BIGGER news than the Cheerios!! Thursday night while I was out on the screened in porch playing cards with Tyler and Grammy, Brad knocked on the glass door and said "Max is walking!" So we all ran into the house and watched him walk back and forth between Brad and I about a zillion times. He's very proud of himself and can go about 10 steps before he gets too excited and starts running which usually ends up with him tripping and falling. But he's getting better and we're excited that he's figured it out! Which will probably only last a couple of weeks then we'll be wondering why we ever wanted him to walk so badly haha!
